A deadbolt is a lock type that is very easy to install and use, yet it provides superior security. With the simple twist of the lock, you can prevent anyone from coming into your home without a key. Schlage deadbolts are among the most popular ones on the marketing, due to their reputation for being extra secure. Why Deadbolts are Better Than Door Locks Most door knobs for external doors can be purchased with a lock in the actual door knob. These, however, are the most insecure locks you can purchase. They are very easily picked by expert thieves who do this for a living and tend not to hold up well to kick ins since the door plate is only attached to the jamb and not the actual wall behind it. The jamb is the weak point of the doorway and can easily be broken. Another weak spot with door locks is the fact that the knob can be removed fairly easily with a little effort. This means that if your only lock is the door lock, then you could be in trouble. Schlage locksets are far more reliable, but many people prefer to go with an extra deadbolt for added protection. It’s very difficult to remove a deadbolt and the combination of the deadbolt and the door lock means that potential burglars will think twice about standing around on your front porch, attempting to disable both. Schlage deadbolts are stronger than many and can be counted on to resist break ins. With sturdier lock plates that are fastened to the wall, they also withstand kicks or ramming of the door. You will find that the extra peace of mind that these locks offer is well worth the money spent. Knowing that your family is safe is a good feeling. Where to Use Deadbolts Most people choose the front door as the installation point for a deadbolt and this is a good option. However, it’s important to note that most burglars don’t want to be exposed, so they will look for more hidden access to your home. The back door or a garage side door are very popular entry points and they need to be protected just as much or even more so than your front door. Schlage deadbolts are ideal for these areas, as well. You want to have as much protection as possible without getting too high tech. In fact, you will notice that there are a number of very complex systems on the market, but unless the world knows you have a gold refinery in your home, chances are you don’t need these more complicated systems. A simple deadbolt is very effective in deterring possible thieves and they are simple enough that the home owner can install them. You can also order Schlage deadbolts online, so even if you are too busy to make it to the hardware store, you’ll be able to order the deadbolt design that you want and have it delivered to your home. There are a variety of Schlage locksets to choose from which will allow you to add more security while still matching the feel of your home. With a number of different finishes available, you’ll be able to get the one that matches the other hardware in your home, or you can choose something distinct and interesting. Schlage deadbolts are among the best on the market. If you are looking for the utmost in security and simplicity at the same time, you really can’t go wrong with a deadbolt. These sturdy locks are low key, extremely simple to lock and unlock, particularly from inside the home or room that is being protected and they are resistant to most burglar entry tactics.
Are you ready to step up the security in your home with a deadbolt? For the best in safety, you will want to consider Schlage deadbolts, simple and secure.

Are you looking for a simple door handle that sets off the house and room it’s in? There are several types of handles on the market, including the traditional round knob and the more elegant lever handle. Schlage Accents handles are levers, but they are so well designed that they really add a lot to any door. You can check out the more standard types of levers, but the Schlage Accents has that extra special touch. With an undulating curved handle lending sleekness to the design, Schlage Accents are perfect for creating a more elegant feel in the home. They don’t just look great though, these handles are built to last a lifetime, which is why they carry a lifetime and mechanical guarantee. Making Life Easier You’ll find that for anyone who has grip issues, lever style handles are easier, as well. For children who don’t have hands big enough to grasp round knobs, levers can be grabbed and pulled on, making it possible for them to open doors when they need to. Of course, you can also lock these when necessary to prevent kids from accessing rooms where they shouldn’t be. Older people or anyone who is in a weakened condition will also find Schlage Accents easier to use. Since you can simply push down in order to open the door, it is easy for anyone to have access to the rooms they want. A simple push button lock is available for privacy. Many people decide to replace locks in their homes when they have children or when elderly parents move in, to help keep things more accessible. Safety First Every Schlage door lock is carefully made to withstand possible intrusions. While most door handles will be inside the home and shouldn’t need too much security, where you really want to focus is on the outer doors. Schlage Accent handles come with one of four options. The dummy trim allows you to use the same handle on a door that you push or pull open, so it will match the rest of the house. The non-locking handles are ideal for storage or rooms where you don’t need locks. The push button lock is usually the lock install for bedrooms and bathrooms. It allows you to lock the door with a simple push of the button, but as soon as you turn the handle from the locked side, the button pops out. Finally, you have the keyed entrance lock. This may be used for any doors that lead outside, or you might opt to put it on an office door or anywhere else that higher security is required within the home. These Schlage Accent handles come with keys and the lock, so all you need to do is install them. Choosing the Perfect Finish When you buy Schlage Accents, you have options in finishes. Some of the more popular ones include brushed nickel and bright brass or chrome, but you can also opt for antiqued or aged pewter, brass, chrome or even matte black, depending on taste and decor. Since the majority of homes are built long before the door handles are selected, you will need to match the existing decor. Whether you are looking to replace locks in your home or are selecting new door handles for a new building, Schlage Accents provide the security needed, along with an elegant look. The curves of the Schlage Accent door handle are sleek and smooth, easy for hands to grasp and open and it comes with several choices in lock installations. Whether you are looking to secure your home or your office, a Schlage entry lock is a good choice for security. You want something that is sturdy, long lasting and still good looking. There are, of course, a number of locks on the market, but if you want to be sure that you are getting the best, you should look at Dexter locks, which are also made by Schlage. The Schlage entry lock is just one of many types of locks offered by the professional security company. They have an offshoot business under the name of Dexter locks, which are also of top quality. These deadbolt locks can help prevent theft. Home invasions are scary for everyone who is a victim of one. If you are there when the burglary takes place, it is entirely possible that you or a family member will be injured, but even if you aren’t there or even if the burglary takes place at your office, you will find that it is still nerve wracking. Having someone break into your personal space can make you feel insecure and violated and, unfortunately, those feelings tend persist for a long time. Ensuring that your home and office are as secure as possible can help you recover from a theft, but it’s far better to prevent one in the first place. Dexter by Schlage is a solid, long-lasting lock that you can trust to ensure entry security. If you don’t trust the current locks in your doors, it’s a good idea to select new ones which will give you the sense of security that you need. What Makes a Schlage Entry Lock Secure? Entry security is important, but most locks aren’t built to really withstand much in the way of pressure. Schlage entry locks are built out of stronger metal that will resist saws and other tools that may be used in an attempt to compromise the lock. They are also designed to be useless with lockpicking tools, which is what many burglars use. A Dexter lock is designed with the Schlage ideals, built to be strong, but also built elegant enough that you would be thrilled to have these locks in your home or office. They come in a range of styles, with a variety of finishes to choose from, meaning that you are bound to find something that matches your style or even existing hardware in your home or office. Selecting the right lock, such as Dexter by Schlage, is vital in protecting your home and family. Remember that most burglars are already experienced. They aren’t going to spend a lot of time trying to get into a well-secured home, not when they can simply pop the lock in the next house. By using a strong lock, you can deter any would-be burglars. Many people don’t realize that thieves are lazy and will stick to easy pickings. Your entry security should be the best possible. While you need to protect windows or any other possible entry points, the fact is that the entrance is the first place that most burglars will go to. With home and office invasions occurring more and more often, now is the best time to start thinking about putting in better locks. When choosing a good entry security system, you should certainly consider Dexter locks, which are similar in design to Schlage entry locks. They offer the best security against kick ins, lock picking and cutting tools, which means your doors will be safer than ever before. The added advantage of Dexter by Schlage is that you can order them online making it extremely easy to get new locks for your entire home and your office, no matter how busy you are.
Schlage entry locks will keep your home and office as secure as possible with their carefully designed components. Dexter locks are another good choice and are designed by Schlage, as well, for utmost safety.

The Schlage deadbolt is very hard to lock. I’m a little leary of having a locksmith work with it, since they would then have a key to the house, although I’m not sure if this should be a concern.
Can the whole Schlage deadbolt assembly be replaced, and might this solve the problem?
How do you find a trustworthy locksmith?
Thanks for any suggestions!

I have a plain Schlage door knob, non lock, and can’t figure out how to get it off. I was able to get the face plate off, but can find no screws or way to pull the door knob on either side off. On one side is a small spring near the base of the door knob, but pushing that spring out does not seem to do anything.
